On 11th December 2016, Rock House held its 50th Annual Carol Service at the Home.
This year it was led by our Head of Chaplaincy, Rev. David Lawrence. His wife, Eunice, led the carol singing on her keyboard.
The residents were joined by their families and friends, and we were very pleased that the tenants from Graham House were also able to join in. Some of our trustees were also able to be with us for this joyous occasion. Some of our residents and their family dressed up especially for the occasion, as you will see when you view the slide show.

Our residents appreciated having the opportunity to join with the folk at St Joseph’s Catholic Church for their Christmas Party. Three of the staff team from Rock House, Kelly-ann Cole, Magaret Onn, and Gillian Morgan were also very pleased to be able to go with them and join in the joviality.
NEW – Rock House Open Day 2015
Rock House residents, their families and representatives were encouraged by Trisha Thurbon, Registered Manager, to take part in an Ipsos MORI survey entitled Your Care Rating in the latter part of 2013. 31 other care providers also took part. The results were published at special launch held on 24th February 2014 which took place at a reception at Church House Conference Centre, Westminster, London.
Rock House has produced the best overall rating (904) of 8 care homes in a 5-mile radius of its location. At a radius of 10 miles Rock House is ranked 6 out of 33 care homes which leaves Rock House ranked in the top 20% of care homes in the area. And if the radius expands to 25 miles, Rock House is ranked 37 out of 140 care homes, ie in the top 27% of care homes.
Trustee Malcolm Tyrrell, who has the Board lead for Marketing Strategy says, “Whatever the calculation and comparison, this is a fantastic achievement. Of course, the survey also highlights the areas where further improvements can still be made, and no doubt Trisha and her team will be on to that.”

Your Care Rating Survey Results Rock House 2013
Your Care Rating was established so that all residents living within a care home are given the opportunity to provide views and feedback via an independent, confidential and standardised survey.
The survey is conducted by leading market research organisation, Ipsos Mori. It covers care homes that primarily serve older people (aged 65+). However, where younger adults live in such care homes, they are also included. The survey covers England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The purpose of Your Care Rating is to:
– Give care home residents a voice
– Promote continuous quality improvement in the care sector
– Provide an authoritative source of information for existing and prospective customers and other stakeholders
The full results can be viewed on the Your Care Rating website at Your Care Rating – All Results
